Southern Cross German Shepherd Rescue
http://www.southerncrossgsd.com/index.shtml

Southern Cross German Shepherd Rescue is a very small but very active rescue group located in NE Georgia. Our mission is to pull, rehabilitate and re-home as many of the wonderful and deserving German Shepherds in Georgia's high kill and gassing shelters as possible. We try very hard to balance our rescue intake by pulling special needs dogs as well as younger healthy ones. We also try to educate our communities about the need for tough anti-cruelty laws and the need for Spay/Neuter programs. We are a pending 501 (c) (3)

Critter Crossings Corp
http://crittercrossingscorp.com/default.aspx

Critter Crossings is an all age, all size, all breed dog rescue founded in March 2004 by our president, Julie Klingsberg and incorporated in January of 2006. We rescue, rehabilitate, and rehome dogs.

Some rescues will only take particular breeds of dogs, and some rescues will only take animals which are identified as easily adoptable - young dogs, dogs with no overt medical problems - generally dogs that take pictures that people coo at and want to take them home instantly. We specialize in dogs that are considered hard to place; sick or injured dogs, dogs that lack basic training or socialization, dogs with shelter stress, or mixed breeds, special needs (blind, deaf or both) and seniors. The dogs that we take may not seem like the most logical choices of animals to rescue, but at the core of our vision is the ability to see potential, where others see an undeniable fate - EUTHANASIA. With love, time and care, each dog is given the chance to become adoptable. We are the safety net for dogs without hope, who otherwise would meet their end without a family to call their own. These special needs dogs are our passion. Where our passion would have us rescue every dog we could, we are limited by time, space, and money.

Critter Crossings is basically the underdog rescue and we will continue to do so... rescuing dogs that are deemed unadoptable by shelters and abandoned by their owners. Whether they come in for a week or two or for the rest of their lives, we commit to them, for life.

Saving Furry Friends, Inc.
www.SavingFurryFriends.com

We rescue and care for abandoned and abused pets and strive to find loving forever homes where they can thrive. Many of the companion animals that we rescue are literally minutes from death.  They may be strays, owner surrenders, abuse cases, or have medical problems but the one thing they all have in common is that they are society\'s throw-a ways and without rescue, they have no chance!

As a sanctuary, we provide long-term love and care to animals deemed unadoptable; either because of age, medical issues or behavioral issues. They are our Sanctuary Residents.

While providing care for pets and finding forever homes for them is our main focus, we are also committed to informing the public about the importance of spaying/neutering their pets, thus reducing the number of unwanted animals that end up in already over crowded shelters.

Samoyed Rescue of Utah
www.geocities.com/samylady/samylady2.html

The main breed we rescue are Samoyeds, but we also help other breeds when we have the room. We're a no-kill shelter. We rehabilitate a lot of Samoyeds that come to us abused. All dogs leaving our rescue are spayed/neutered, current on all shots, house trained, crate trained, micro chipped, fully groomed and tested to be kid, cat & dog friendly. Pups under four months are held in Utah until they are old enough to be spayed/neutered. We only work in the western United States but we can provide information for Samoyed Rescues in other areas.

Alley Cat Rescue
www.saveacat.org

Alley Cat Rescue operates on all levels. Locally, through rescue, rehabilitation, providing vet care for (including sterilization), and finding homes for stray, abandoned, and owner surrendered cats. It also has a TNR program for feral cats and a low-cost spay/neuter clinic. Nationally, ACR connects callers from all over the US with rescue groups in their local area through its Cat Action Teams; its CAT directory consists of nearly 200 groups. Lastly, ACR helps the international community. In 2007, ACR held a spay/neuter clinic in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico; where they sterilized 100 cats/dogs in 3 days and encouraged a local rescue group to operate their own a spay/neuter clinic once a month. Currently, ACR is working on a project to save the African Wildcat in South Africa.

Saving Shelter Pets, Inc.
http://www.savingshelterpets.com/

Saving Shelter Pets (SSP) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) animal welfare organization.  We facilitate rescues from high-kill shelters, promote spay & neuter programs, and work to give shelter pets the chance at life they truly deserve.  SSP is an all volunteer-based organization with volunteers located throughout the country, and we rely extensively on donations to continue our rescue and spay/neuter efforts.

SSP has a number of programs that help pets in need.  Our Rescue & Transport Program saves dogs and cats from high-kill shelters in the Southeast and moves them to safe, no-kill rescues in the Northeast, where they have a much better chance at adoption.  SSP operates an innovative program called Puppy Promises that not only rescues puppies, but also spays their mother as well as spays/neuters all other animals in the family's household - to break the cycle of uncontrolled breeding.  Our Bernies' Buddies program helps to finance treatment for heartworm positive dogs that are saved through the Rescue & Transport program.  And our Spay & Neuter program offers financial assistance and access to services for low-income pet owners in several counties in Georgia and Ohio.

Saving Georgia Dogs
www.savinggeorgiadogs.org

Saving Georgia Dogs, Inc. is an all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)3 animal welfare organization & licensed rescue in Georgia.  We save dogs every day on death row in Georgia's high kill shelters.  Our primary focus is rescuing dogs in shelters where they still use the gas chamber or heartstick without sedation as a method of euthanization.  Our motto is "No dog left behind."  We believe all dogs deserve a chance at life which is why we rescue in order of who's next to die & take the black dogs, the old dogs, the dogs who require extensive medical care, the dogs who have been so traumatized by being dumped in a kill shelter that they turn their faces to the wall & give up on life.  We pull, board, vet & rehabilitatte them & help get them placed in loving forever homes.
